At Barking Mad Farm Bed & Breakfast it’s all about the views. Situated a stone’s throw from Joseph, in the middle of Wallowa Valley’s Alder Slope, you can see for miles in every direction. To the south, the jagged cordillera of the Wallowa Mountains rises precipitously above farms and forests. To the east, the vast Zumwalt Prairie rolls endlessly towards the snow-capped backdrop of Idaho’s Seven Devils Mountains.

Barking Mad Farm is a charming turn of the century farmhouse and working farm situated on 42 flat acres in one of the most incredible alpine locations in the world. The dramatic surroundings are a view back in time. A majestic herd of buffalo graze nearby in a landscape of sweeping pastures, rolling prairie, and rugged mountains.

You’ll feel away from the world, yet are minutes from town! We’re only two miles from downtown Enterprise and Terminal Gravity brewery, a short drive to the picturesque artists’ community of Joseph and stunning Wallowa Lake.

For adventurers, it’s a landscape of superlatives. Hikers, anglers, skiers, and photographers can choose from Oregon’s largest protected Wilderness, North America’s deepest canyon, and the West’s largest remaining bunchgrass prairie. The area is home to abundant wildlife including raptors, elk, wolves, and even Oregon’s only known wolverine and moose.

Come share our passion and see what brought us here! Experience pristine land, panoramic views, warm hospitality, farm-fresh cuisine, adventure, and romantic getaways. The huge antique barn, private streams and gardens provide a sense of tranquility and charm for any vacationer.

Well behaved pets are always welcome at Barking Mad Farm. They love our private 8-acre, “dog park”.
